How, when you are a consumer, can you navigate all this contradictory information on animal nutrition? Because on the subject of kibbles and pâtés for dogs and cats, there are so many publications that the choice is difficult. So are we really poisoning our animals, as some people try to persuade us? We offer you an analysis of information on the subject worldwide, to allow you to make informed choices, with easy access from an alphabetical index (for products, ingredients, manufacturers, definitions).
A balanced household ration may seem to be the best solution for properly feeding your animal, but you still need to have the time to prepare it and have it validated by an animal nutrition professional. And manufacturers, traders, may try to influence you by offering you kibbles with ideas of “natural”, “organic”, “ethical”, “like in nature”, by showing you beautiful images of fresh meat: Beware of bullshit and misleading marketing! Petfood Advisor works to improve the quality of pet food.
Before the creation of our project, there was no site offering international petfood monitoring. We therefore decided to take up all the theories on the subject, including the most controversial themes (such as carbohydrates in kibble), to propose new developments, and throughout the world.
Because we have noticed that most of the comments in Petfood, especially those on kibbles, come from information published around the 2000s, and copied, adapted, transformed, without any verification, in many countries: this is what explains this proliferation of petfood “influencers” who often have no training in animal nutrition.
